- With over 24 years of active litigation practice before the Hon´ble Supreme Court of India and 15 years as an Advocate-on-Record, Somiran Sharma has handled a broad spectrum of disputes across Constitutional, Civil, and Criminal laws. His experience spans a wide array of legal domains, including Arbitration and Contract Law, Government Tenders, Intellectual Property, Labour and Service Matters, Land Acquisition, Real Estate, Banking and Insolvency Law, Environmental Law, Consumer Protection, Matrimonial Disputes, as well as cases involving Corruption and Money Laundering Laws.
ARBITRATION & SECTOR-SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
- With over two decades of litigation, arbitration and advisory experience, he has represented a diverse range of clients—including major public sector undertakings (PSUs), corporate entities, and institutions—across critical sectors such as Energy, Construction and Engineering, Real Estate and Healthcare.
- In the Energy sector, he is empaneled as counsel with leading PSUs including Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Oil India Limited (OIL), GAIL (India) Limited, and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). He possesses experience in handling high value arbitrations in disputes arising out of Oil and Gas Contracts including Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs). He has expertise in handling high value disputes arising out of Construction & Engineering Contracts. He has represented both PSUs and private sector Companies and has also advised on regulatory compliance and contractual interpretation.
- In the Healthcare domain, he has been serving as a standing counsel since 2006 for one of India’s premier Medical Institute. He has defended and advised independent medical professionals, hospitals, and institutions in complex Medical Negligence cases before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) and the Supreme Court of India.
- In the Real Estate sector, he has represented corporate clients in RERA and Consumer disputes before the Supreme Court of India and NCDRC, addressing issues involving project delays, buyer-seller agreements, and enforcement of contractual rights.
